A Wearable Continuous Glucose Monitoring System with Electrochemical Sensor Modified by Graphene

This paper presented a wearable microsystem including a microfluidic chip with an integrated threeelectrode electrochemical sensor for continuous glucose monitoring in subcutaneous interstitial fluid (ISF). The microfluidic chip fabricated by PDMS was used to transdermally extract ISF. The working electrode of the electrochemical sensor was modified by graphene and gold nanoparticles to improve the glucose measurement resolution. The sensor could precisely measure glucose in the linearity range of 0~162mg/dL with the detection limit of 1.44mg/dL which exhibited the potential for hypoglycemia detection that was still a big challenge for continuous glucose monitoring in clinics.
